...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM EDT THIS EVENING

Synopsis for the Long Island Waters and New York Harbor... A warm front will approach today, and lift to the northeast this afternoon and evening as low pressure passes to the north. The front will then become stationary just to our north later tonight through much of Saturday, then drop south of the waters Saturday night. A strong low pressure system will then impact the region for the second half of Sunday into Monday.

W winds around 5 kt, becoming S with gusts up to 20 kt late this morning and afternoon. Seas 1 ft or less. Slight chance of showers early this afternoon. Chance of showers late.

Tonight

SW winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Seas building to 2 to 4 ft. Chance of showers this evening.

Fri

SW winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt, diminishing to 5 to 10 kt in the afternoon. Seas 2 to 3 ft in the morning, then 1 ft or less.
