Synopsis for the Long Island Waters and New York Harbor... High pressure will retreat into New England today as a warm front and wave of low pressure approach from the south. The low passes east of Montauk tonight. A cold front moves through the waters late Tuesday and Tuesday night. Another frontal system will affect the area on Friday.

E winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 25 kt, becoming NE 5 to 10 kt after midnight. Seas 2 to 3 ft. Rain.

E winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming S 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 25 kt in the afternoon. Seas 2 to 3 ft. Rain likely in the morning, then rain in the afternoon with vsby 1 to 3 nm.
