Synopsis for the Long Island Waters and New York Harbor... A front remains stalled to the south of the area through this evening, then lifts north as a warm front late tonight, followed by a cold front crossing the region on Friday. Canadian high pressure builds in Friday night through the weekend. A weak wave of low pressure passes to the south Sunday night into Monday morning, followed by high pressure building to the north through Monday night.

NE winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt, diminishing to 5 to 10 kt late. Seas 2 to 3 ft. Patchy drizzle this morning.

Tonight

NE winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming SE after midnight. Seas 1 ft or less. Chance of rain. Patchy fog after midnight. Vsby 1 to 3 nm.

Fri

SW winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming W 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt in the afternoon. Seas 1 ft or less, then 2 to 3 ft in the afternoon. Showers likely in the morning. Patchy fog in the morning with vsby 1 to 3 nm.
